< . . . > seeks to explore the concept of "existence as meaning" through the documentation of inner monologues. In the rapidly transforming landscape of modern society, the essence of existence is often overlooked, reduced to abstract meanings that are readily accepted without question. For instance, the light from a distant star may still reach us despite the star itself having already ceased to exist, suggesting that what we perceive as existence might, in reality, be absent. Against this backdrop, the project investigates whether phenomena that exist as "meaning" possess any tangible basis in reality. To give this inquiry a tangible form, I recorded my inner monologues as text and layered them repeatedly. This process reveals a paradoxical act of "defining while simultaneously erasing." I posit that the act of "definition" simplifies essence, omitting the memory and process intrinsic to its formation. Such omissions are pervasive, not only in language but also in defining relationships and existence itself. By documenting and reconstructing these omissions, the work aims to offer new perspectives on the interplay of existence, meaning, and reality.
