The things one collects tell us about that person. Objects are concealed as mere things, and people and events are also reconstructed according to the writer’s consciousness. Though beautifully packaged on the outside, an envelope is similar to LOVE in that there is nothing visible inside.

In November 2022, my interest in love began from a letter about unrequited love received from an unknown person. What can be defined as the form of invisible love? I want to talk about precious, invisible love, which is kept like a secret among various privately entangled relationships.

Gestures and words used in communication involve sensitive movements of unexpected interruptions and spontaneous emotions. Once they begin to spread in the air, their traces cannot be erased. On the other hand, something packaged to be delivered to someone can be meticulously crafted and delivered as a complete entity. Therefore, the artist often feels deeper love when facing the refined feelings of a loved one rationally, rather than through face-to-face conversations.

The complex and subtle emotions felt before opening a gift or letter received from someone are also quite similar to love. Works made in the form of an envelope containing something are unpredictable until the recipient opens it by hand. Similarly, when dissecting the concept of love, it is difficult to guarantee that something tangible exists within. The form of the work, camouflaged as if it contains something, subtly conveys confusion, like unveiling the veil of transparent love. Envelopes created sequentially over a series of time collectively visualize the traces of immense love.

The point where the shape of the letter envelope starts and gradually transforms over time seems to suggest that love cannot be defined in a single way or fixed in one place. <Floating Ghost> signifies the unpredictable movements of love, which continues to create relationships as it wanders around silently and without a fixed form.
